What is herpes?

The herpes simplex virus is also termed HSV, which is an infection that causes herpes. Herpes can charge any part of your body, but the mouth or genitals are the most commonly affected areas.

This disease is categorized into two types which are-

HSV-1 Blisters around the mouth or on the face, cold sores, and fever blisters are the common symptoms of primary causes of oral herpes.

HSV-2 THis condition causes genital herpes and is most likely to get sexually transmitted, causing genital herpes.

What causes herpes simplex in the body?

This is a contagious virus that can be transferred from one person to another through direct contact. Children are most likely to get infected from HSV-1 from an infected adult.

Herpes may also spread through direct skin contact of the skin to the infected skin, moist skin of the mouth, and anus during anal sex.

This infection can occur in the following ways:

  • Having anal or vaginal sex without using protection such as a condom.
  • Having genital or oral contact with the infected person.
  • Sharing sex toys.

Herpes simplex is most likely to be transmitted between the time when the symptoms appear and when they heal. Herpes can be inherited if a pregnant woman with genital herpes gives birth; the virus can be transmitted to the baby.

What are the symptoms of having herpes in the body?

Most people having HSV don’t even know they are infected because it doesn’t show any apparent signs or symptoms initially. However, you may experience some symptoms after two to twelve days of getting exposed to the virus. Here we’ve listed some common symptoms, which may include the following-

  • Severe pain or itching
  • Tiny white blisters
  • Small red bumps
  • Ulcers
  • Scabs

Having flu, muscle aches or headache fever are common symptoms of an initial outbreak. If you experience more than one of the following symptoms in you, then it’s advised you consult your doctor to prevent the problem in time.

What are the risk factors for having herpes?

There are certain risk factors that can keep you under the radar of getting infected with genital herpes, which include the following-

If you’re a women

Women are at higher risk of having genital herpes than men. The virus can be easily transmitted through sexual intercourse from men to women than from women to men.

If you have multiple sexual partners

An additional sexual partner can increase your risk of developing herpes inside your body that can result in genital herpes.

How herpes can be prevented through ayurvedic treatment?

Herpes is termed as visarpa or parisarpa in Ayurveda. According to Ayurveda, the human body is linked with three primary human doshas that control functions and certain human body areas. The vitiation caused between all three doshas can trigger this problem inside the body. Herpes cannot be cured; however can be definitely treated through ayurvedic treatment. Luckily, Ayurveda also has some herbs that can help you to deal with this problem naturally. The treatment is carried out on the basis of symptoms, which include the color and the nature of blisters.

  • If the blisters look dark grey and are dry, it’s clear that Vata dosha is disrupted.
  • If blisters are reddish or copper in color, then pitta is predominant.
  • If blisters occur whitish, pale, ooze fluids, very itchy and cause a dull pain, then it’s apparent that Kapha is disrupted.

Ayurvedic herbs detect and eradicate the primary drivers of the problem instead of just curing the symptoms. The herbs stimulate and strengthen the natural defense system of the body that helps your body to fight against the disease naturally without administering any painkillers, antibiotics, or drugs.
