Hibiscus tea is deliciously made with the drying and extracts process. It is a tea made with brewing dried petals and seeds of the hibiscus plant. The sweet and tart flavour gives our taste buds a boost and our ample health benefits. From healing wounds to repairing the inner body, this tea does it all.

Hibiscus, China rose is a plant that is widely used in India for flowering Gods and Goddesses. It is not a new flower in India but its benefits may surprise them. With a widespread of the unconditional benefits, the origin of hibiscus plant hails from North Africa and southern Asia. Lately, it has been seen cultivating in the tropical and sub-tropical lands across the globe. This piece of information will expose all the possible benefits that a cup of hibiscus tea can provide.

If we generalize the fact, then hibiscus tea is not actually considered a tea maybe because it doesn’t come from a tea plant naming Camellia Sinensis though it provides taste and benefits like the other herbal teas but still characterized differently in some areas.

Hibiscus tea is available in different forms like:

  • Set of single tea bags
  • Ready to drink hibiscus tea
  • Loose flower petals
  • Extracts in liquidated form
  • Dried petals’ powder

What are the health benefits of drinking hibiscus tea?

Hibiscus tea is no longer different than other herbal teas. It provides you with numerous benefits, starting from losing weight to maintaining the inner body’s health. It does it all, not to mention that Karma Ayurveda Health provides the best treatment for kidney diseases. Herbal tea has played a significant role in relieving kidney pain, and hibiscus tea was one among them. The following benefits are for kidneys and overall health:

  • It regulates the blood pressure
  • It maintains a healthy level of cholesterol
  • It supports the mission of losing weight
  • It promotes hair growth
  • It helps in managing diabetes

It regulates the blood pressure:

High blood pressure is the root cause of the impairment of multiple organs. Neither is good, low blood pressure or high blood pressure. Maintaining or regulating healthy blood pressure is the job of hibiscus tea. According to the studies of the Journal of Nutrition 2010, if a person with the problem of high blood pressure drinks 8 ounces of hibiscus tea for 6 weeks, then he will be able to maintain his healthy flow of blood. Following the same source, the studies conducted in 2015 states that hibiscus tea’s consumption has maintained a healthy level of systolic and diastolic blood pressure.

High blood pressure is one of the root causes of having kidney diseases and according to the Ayurvedic treatment for kidney diseases; hibiscus tea is among that herbal tea that is beneficial during the treatment.

It maintains a healthy level of cholesterol levels:

Hibiscus is enriching in polyphenolic acids, flavonoids, and anthocyanins. These nutrients present in hibiscus tea have shown the proven results to lower cholesterol levels in the blood. The antioxidants present in hibiscus don’t let the electrolytes imbalance. High levels of cholesterol can cause heart and kidney diseases. Henceforth, consuming hibiscus tea can bring revolutionary changes in the body.

It supports the mission of losing weight:

Hibiscus has shown positive results in reducing the body mass index. Drinking hibiscus tea manages the body weight, hip-to-waist ratio and body fat. Because of the properties stated above, hibiscus was a proven remedy to reduce cholesterol levels and weight. It is a home remedy that reduces the risk of obesity and the problems related to weight gain.

It promotes hair growth:

The flower of the hibiscus plant is bright and shiny and provides the same benefits to the growth of human hair. These flowers are widely used to stimulate the hair growth that is shiny, glossy and long. According to the ancient studies, people who have dipped the petals of a fresh flower in hot water and then applied to their scalps have shown tremendous results in the growth of shiny-long hair.

It helps in managing diabetes:

Diabetes is the major cause of kidney diseases. It disturbs the sugar level in the blood and reduces the production of insulin in the pancreas. The elevated level of sugar in the blood damages the blood vessels and allows the waste to get accumulated there only. The infusion of hibiscus tea has shown positive effects on treating type 2 diabetes under the Ayurvedic treatment of kidney diseases.
