Ayurveda is our traditional medicine system that has been used for centuries to maintain an individual’s overall health. The word “Ayurveda” consists of two words and that is “Ayur” means “life” and “Veda” means “art or “science”. When we translate these two phrases, then it would be “An Art of Life”. Thus, Ayurveda simply means “ the way of living your life”. To get to know about the Ayurvedic home remedies, you should increase your knowledge about Ayurveda and how should it can help you.

Ayurveda is based on the idea that any disease occurs due to the imbalance of doshas and the burden of the stress in an individual’s consciousness. Generally, Ayurveda says that the balance between soul, mind, and body is very necessary to lead a healthy life further. Ayurveda suggests you should adopt certain lifestyle changes and natural therapies to maintain the balance of mind, soul, and body. It mainly focuses on maintaining a balance between mind, body, and spirit and this would achieve when the balance between tridoshas exists.

According to Ayurveda, our ancient medicine, there are three energetic forces in our body that control the activities and enable all the physical, mental, and intellectual structure and various functions. These tridoshas are known as Kapha, Vata, and Pitta. When they are imbalanced, they disturb the structure and are responsible for causing disease. In Ayurvedic treatment, the strategy is used to balance tridoshas and release toxins. Ayurvedic treatment starts from the internal purification process that is followed by a special diet, herbal remedies, massage therapy, yoga, meditation, exercises, etc.

What is a Kidney?

The kidney is an essential organ of our body that helps to keep our body in balance. It is responsible for removing extra waste from blood and toxins from our body and excretes them through urine. It is responsible for some crucial tasks such as they regulate our hormones that are responsible for producing red blood cells. It balances other bodily fluids and removes excess fluid outside of our body. It maintains an adequate amount of chemicals and minerals & helps in controlling blood pressure in our body. It also activates Vitamin D, so that it develops in a usable form. Now, our body can use it to strengthen our bones.

Our kidneys play an important role in our urinary system. It is the filtering unit of the entire system. Our entire blood is filtered through the kidney more than 40 times a day. Our kidney health is very crucial, if there is any problem that occurs in our kidneys, they will start functioning improperly. When our kidneys are unable to filter blood and other bodily fluids, it would lead to storing waste material in our blood and affected our kidney’s ability to function. The waste material that separates out from our blood is known as the Creatinine. This level starts increasing and starts creating pressure on our kidneys. So, It’s very important to maintain our kidneys’ health and detoxify them properly.

How Ayurvedic home remedies are useful for the Kidney?

As we earlier mentioned, Ayurveda is an art of life. It dictates to us that certain lifestyle interventions can bring drastic changes in life, that will keep us healthy and away from diseases. The usage of herbal therapies, massage therapy, and various remedies are very useful for maintaining our kidney health. Nowadays, our sedentary lifestyle and eating habits make our entire system weak and we fall ill easily. Here, the importance of Ayurveda begins, as it strengthens our system and keeps us stay away from harmful diseases.

Here, Ayurveda offers a few home remedies that will make our kidneys strong & healthy.

  1. Radish Juice – Radish is an excellent source of diuretic, detergent, and disinfectant properties that helps in treating several renal disorders. Radish leaves juice is very useful for kidneys. It has diuretic properties that help in blood cleansing and flushing out all the impurities and other unwanted byproducts of digestion. Generally, radishes is been known for breaking down gall stones and kidney stones. Have this juice twice a day and keeps your kidneys healthy.
  2. Watermelon – Watermelon is known as a kidney-friendly fruit because it is a rich source of lycopene antioxidants. This antioxidant helps to break down harmful oxygen-free radicals. It is a natural diuretic fruit that increases the flow of urine but does not strain the kidneys. And also it is low in phosphorus, sodium, and potassium which includes it in a kidney-friendly diet. Its high water content is very good for kidney patients because it helps in flushing out all the toxins from our blood.
  3. Beetroot – Beetroot juice is very rich in antioxidants and other substances that help keeps our kidneys strong and healthy. It contains nitrous oxide which dilates your blood vessels and regulates your blood pressure. Beetroot is rich in dietary nitrate that is known to increase nitric oxide. If these levels remain high in our kidneys may prevent kidney injury and also helps in stopping dialysis. Have 2 cups of beetroot juice daily for the best results of Ayurvedic home remedies.
  4. Citric fruits – Citric fruits are very beneficial for kidneys. As they contain Vitamin C in abundance, they make themselves more useful for maintaining your kidney health. Vitamin C helps the kidneys to process the nutrients and excrete them through urine and its acidic properties may prevent the formation of kidney stones in your body.
